Product Description Corningware, 22 OZ, Pop-Ins Mug, Large Capacity Stoneware Mug Perfect Size For Heating Soups & Chili As Well As Beverages, Vented Plastic Cover Is Leak Proof & Has A Steam Vent.
Amazon.com Review Reheat homemade chili at the office for a warm meal with this innovative, single serving mug from CorningWare. From CorningWare's smart Pop Ins line of kitchenware, the mug holds up to 22 ounces of a favorite beverage, soup, or vegetable dish. Constructed in fine stoneware, the fluted mug design adds simple elegance to a kitchen while performing multiple functions. Freezer-, refrigerator-, oven-, and microwave- safe, the mug enables quick and easy food preparation. Just add frozen minestrone, pop the mug into the microwave, and set your steaming soup on the dinner table. The included plastic lid keeps contents fresh and is heat-resistant for microwave use. Vented slots on the lid allow steam to exit while dishes reheat in the mug, preventing steam burns or messy content eruptions. To clean the mug, place in the dishwasher or wash by hand. Soaking stoneware may damage the mug's effectiveness. Avoid using abrasives that may cause scratches and blemishes. CorningWare offers a one-year warranty for this product. The mug weighs 1 pound upon shipping. --Jessica Reuling

Great cups for lunch. Here's a tip on those lids... February 25, 2010 C. Lee (Seattle, WA) I agree with some other reviews that the lids leave little to be desired. They stain badly and don't really vent well when getting super-heated in the super-nuker at work. Here's what to do: Loosen that lid but keep it placed on top while heating. Even better, put a layer of paper towel between the cup and the lid, so whatever food is in the cup doesn't splash up and stain the lid. Even when I'm not heating it, and using it to store leftovers in the fridge, I put a small piece of plastic wrap on top of the mug to keep it separated from the lid. The lid still seals securely, and you won't get stained lids. All and all, a great, sturdy item, easy to clean, easy to transport.
Like the mug, hate the lid February 19, 2010 K. J. Ryan (Virginia, U.S.A.) I got this at the Williamsburg CorningWare outlet; the nice big mug has a wide mouth for easy access to all of your warmable goodies. My problem, however, is the lid - it has that little hole that is suppose to vent steam while microwaving, however it just turned my beef and barley soup this afternoon into a mini volcano while nuking it a few minutes. The result was major spillage in my workplace microwave. Problem number 2 arrived when I cleaned the lid (right after Mount St. Soup erupted) and found the lid was irreversibly stained any where the soup touched it. The CorningWare part cleaned easily and is still white and pristine, but after my first use of this product I now have a this-will-always-look-dingy stained lid to top it with. Grump. I do really like the CorningWare mug part, it's like the tall CorningWare ramekin with a handle (which can get warm, watch your fingers).
Love the cups, hate the lids... February 13, 2010 NoTexasCowboy (Dallas, Texas) These cups are excellent for soup, chili and the like, whether heated in the microwave or just as serving bowls. They are absolutely perfect for this usage.
Be aware however that the lids will stain, badly. If you heat chili or tomato soup or squash soup in the microwave, and it boils onto the lid, your lid is going to stain. I have only had these a few months, and already my lids are multicolored. Pink from tomato/red pepper soup, crimson from chili and yellow from butternut squash soup. While I have not experienced the brittleness some reviewers talked about yet, I consider the staining a major drawback to these. It looks ugly and unhygienic.
5 stars for the cups themselves, 1 star for the lids, so 3 stars.
Perfect Lunch Accessory! February 9, 2010 SonicFun01 (Ann Arbor MI) This little do-dad is thee perfect item for my lunchtime soup. Sturdy, perfect size (nice & wide, not too deep), microwave/dishwasher safe, and the lid means I can reheat/store with no waste (no longer have use a previous soup cup where I had to cover it with a paper plate, paper towel, or plastic wrap to store/reheat). I bought one for work and one for home! Love it!
Exactly what I wanted February 8, 2010 G. Chambliss Perfect for oatmeal or soup at work. Handle doesn't get two hot and the top prevents spills!
