SiliconeZone is manufactured and engineered to commercial and professional standards with a patented, high gloss, non-stick finish and temperature range of -58 degrees F to over 500 degrees F. The melting point of our Silicone is 932 degrees F. However, sustained temperature use is 675 degrees, meaning that our bakeware can be left at 675 degrees indefinitely without breaking down. By commercial quality we mean that we have designed our products to perform to commercial specifications and withstand heavy daily use as in commercial bread or pastry production. FDA approved food safe silicone is pure silicone, there are no fillers to compromise the stability or performance of the piece. The High Gloss finish is one sign of a high quality product. The High Gloss is created by a high polish of the mold used to make the silicone. This process insures a smooth, non-porous surface to enhance non-stick properties. Silicone has inherent non-stick properties without adding any additional coatings, however, we always recommend following the recipe's directions for greasing or flowering. Butter, sprays, solid shortenings and oils are all fine to use with our bakeware. The non-porous finish combined with the purity of our silicone insures that it will not retain odors or flavors. I love how easy this is to clean. It doesn't get spotless, but you can even invert it to really get at the corners. One of the worst parts of roasting vegetables for example is cleaning the tray afterward or going through sheets of disposable aluminum foil that can stick to the vegetables anyway, but this product is a great solution.

As for the other purported benefits, it is not great for a lot of baking since many recipes rely on the base getting hot and sometimes it does not cook evenly. And while it stays cooler than a metal pan, it's still not cool to touch. Furthermore, because its so floppy, you simply MUST put a tray of sorts on the bottom in order to remove it from the oven easily, so don't get rid of any oven mitts just yet ;-).

GREAT PRODUCT!!! I make butterscotch blondies from time to time. And you girls now how sticky butterscotch is. In the past, I have had to butter the pan, carefully press down the aluminum foil into the pan, careful not punchering the foil. Then buttering the foil, well all that prep work is a thing of the past. i do spray a little bakers desert spray on it and that is it. I adore this product.

This pan is great for the non-stick part, it also cleans up easily. The problem is with the flexibility. It really doesn't hold it's shape well which limits it uses. It has to have another pan under it when you transfer it around. Other than that, it is a great idea.

This was the largest silicone pan I could find. Its quality is very good, certainly equal to silicone bakeware commonly found at big box retailers.

A couple of notes about this type of bakeware, not necessarily confined to this specific item:

Silicone bakeware is really not a replacement for traditional glass, ceramic, or metal bakeware. It's flexibility and non-stickiness make it ideal and unbeatable for some specific uses - such as hard breads, cakes, protein bars, etc. that are difficult to remove from traditional pans. The silicone pan can literally be peeled off, and for that purpose there's just nothing else like it.

For other tasks, like casseroles or other things that will be scooped out, silicone isn't so good. It is easily punctured with a sharp knife or fork, and the flexibility that makes it so great for some things is a nuisance for others.

The moral of the story is this - don't expect a silicone pan to replace a traditional pan. But for some specific baking tasks, nothing else can compare to it.

I love this so easy to clean and works great. will never go back to reg metal pans as this is so easy to use and the pan cools alot quicker. Great feature when my 5 year old wants to help in the kitchen and likes to touch things.
