Editorial Reviews:
Product Description The ideal paring knife should be the length of your thumb. This provides good leverage and eliminates the need to hold the knife's cutting edge. A paring knife is ideal for cleaning, paring, peeling, slicing small fruits, and vegetables or boning small poultry.
Amazon.com Review Part of the popular Four Star line, this hand-honed blade is made with Henckels' Sintermetal Component Technology (SCT), which allows three different grades of steel to be combined to form a single piece, fusing together the blade, bolster, and tang. What does this mean in layman's terms? It means a strong, high-quality knife that will last a lifetime. Founded in 1731, the J.A. Henckels company is not only one of the world's oldest cutlery manufacturers, it's also one of the most well respected, creating best-selling knives guaranteed to last a lifetime. --Kim Harwell From the Manufacturer | First introduced in 1976, the Four Star® Series is one of the world's most popular knife lines. As a result, Four Star® knives have improved quality consistency, lasting sharpness, and perfect geometry. Sigmaforge one-piece construction also provides high precision and improved stability of the blade and steel structure, thus improving cutting-edge retention for lasting sharpness. Another disappointment September 2, 2010 Lysan I've got a $4.95 paring knife that cuts and slices better and easier than this one. Just like the kitchen shears I bought from Henckels, I'm very disappointed in this item. Expected much better quality for the price. Good-bye Henckels!
VERY Nice! August 31, 2010 Carolyn R. Gourley I would recommend this knife to anyone who needs a sharp, clean cut, and easy to manipulate instrument.
The World's Best? May 24, 2010 John Matlock (Winnemucca, NV) I'm aware that some other folk prefer other brands of knives, and that's fair. But years ago I started collecting Henckels and have never been disappointed. The blades are good, the handles quite comfortable, the quality is high, the price is fair. This little paring knife is typical and quite useful around the kitchen.
Decent knife February 27, 2010 Ravi Shanghavi (Ottawa, Ontario Canada) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
Purchase this to go with a bunch of other Four star knives I have in my block. It's a decent knife but nothing spectacular. If I didn't care for ascetics as much I'd buy the Victorinox knives as they tend to keep their sharpness. This knife has not, and within a few months of light use it lost it's edge.
henkel knife February 26, 2010 Marian T. Cleary (Holbrook, New York United States) great knife at a good price. every kitchen needs a good and reliable paring knife.
