Product Description
Zwilling JA Henckels 31467-201 Great for cutting bread or any other food with a tough skin or crust. Do NOT cut meat or fish with this serrated edge knife as it will not produce an even slice with those type of foods. Features: -Precision, stamped construction for durability through the full length of the knife. -High quality, German stainless steel blades are durable, stain and rust resistant. -Black, satin-finished polypropylene handles with triple rivets . -Fully visible tang construction provides proper balance. -Handwash recommended. -Lifetime warranty against defects in material and or craftsmanship.

Amazon.com Review
A crusty loaf yields easily to this knife, whose serrations are big enough to rate--in knife-speak--as "scallops." Henckels' International Fine Edge is an inexpensive cutlery line made in countries other than the company's home of Germany. These knives don't have bolsters and their blades are thinner and less strong. Handles are narrower and shallower than those of the company's premier lines--a feature those with small hands might appreciate. --Fred Brack

5 out of 5 stars Awesome Bread Knife!!   March 8, 2010
William A. Gonzalez (Nashville, TN.)
This is a really good easy to use bread knife, I really enjoy using it on a regular basis.

5 out of 5 stars Lovely blade, nice balance   February 12, 2010
Nancy E. Turner (Tucson, AZ USA)
I chose this knife after reviewing dozens of bread knives and finally took a chance because of the great price. I was not disappointed. It slices velvety cake or airy artisanal breads without crushing. My only advice is that if too much crumb sticks to the blade, then the bread is too hot to cut. But, hey, who doesn't want bread hot from the oven?

5 out of 5 stars Great Value   September 15, 2009

This knife is a great value for a bread knife. You get a premium name knife company knife, given this is not the same blade/handle as the premium level from this brand but is a great value. Its sharp and slices bread and cakes very well. I do a lot of baking and this knife works very well for slicing cakes in half for layered frosting.
I prefer to buy less expensive serrated knives because they are a pain to sharpen and its a waste to buy an expensive one to have to toss it when dull.

5 out of 5 stars Now This is a Bread Knife!   May 28, 2009
Jennifer S. Herrington (Rural Mississippi)
This bread knife is the best I've found in years. It slices neatly, fits comfortably in your hand, and appears to be as durable as it looked in the pictures online. Great purchase!

Brand name is not an issue when it comes to bread knives. Bread knives are harder to sharpen because of its serrated blade, so they are basically just a tool which you use it until it gets dull and then toss it away. You really don't need to spend too much on it!

This knife works equally as well as a Wusthof one, for a fraction of the price. The weight of the knife is heavy enough to slice through a loaf of baguette easily without having to put in extra wrist power. The serrated blades are sharp enough so that it leaves no crumbs, and the length of the knife is perfect to cut both long loaves and short ones. Highly recommended.
