So pleased! February 18, 2010 Yolanda M. Caldwell (Miami, Florida) I am so pleased with this purchase! It is the best knife I have ever had and at my age that if a lot of knifes! I don't know how long it will last but for know it was an excellent purchase!
Awesome knives February 8, 2010 Sue Smith We had a whole set of these knives at home already. I bought 2 more for some cooking workshops that I host (after totally wasting my money on cheaper ones that wouldn't cut worth a darn). The knives work fabulously, especially for being relatively inexpensive.
Awesome knife February 3, 2010 Richard Cate (SANTA ROSA, CA USA) Cooks Illustrated rated this knife the best in their comparison of chef's knives. I bought one for myself a year ago and liked it so much I got one for a friend last Christmas. Victorinox seems to have won all their tests. I would really like a Robert Kramer Damascus steel knife for the sheer beauty of the workmanship but at $100 an inch, it's too steep for my blood. I took myself off his 3 year waiting list. Darn it!
Unbelievable Value January 10, 2010 P David (Salt Lake City, Utah) Purchased based on Cook's Illustrated review of the 8" version, and I am not disappointed. If you are accustomed to a heavy knife, as I was, it will take a little bit of time to get used to the light weight of this one. But, it didn't take long for me to appreciate the lighter weight (chopping and slicing for Thanksgiving dinner). I have since ordered the 8" and the round-tip slicer, and have been happy with all of them. My next order will be for the boning knife and a 6" chef's for the smaller hands in the house. The ideal size for me would be a 9"... I find the 8" to be a little small and the 10" to be a little large, but I find myself reaching for the 10" more often than the 8". Another review complained that the knife does not hold an edge. I have not found that to be a problem in two months of relatively heavy use; I only use wood cutting boards and that may be a factor in the edge life. For a knife that costs less than $30, this is a great buy!
Awesome Knife December 6, 2009 T. White (Las Vegas) What an awesome knife. I've cooked for many years both professionally and in my own home and this is a great knife. Light, easy to handle and holds an edge as well as professional knives I've used. The blade is a bit thinner that the knives you see in restaurants but that just gives a lighter feel. The textured handle helps you keep a grip even with wet hands. I use this knife everyday. The large size makes it ideal for butterflying meat and making cutlets as well as chopping. I would recommend this knife to anyone. If you are just starting out cooking and can't afford an array of expensive knives this is the one you should buy. Very useful
