Great set of knives! January 2, 2009 Carson Wang (Queens, NY USA) I received my knives from Amazon and the package was complete as described. I noticed other customers have complained about 2 knives missing because of the knife block having 2 extra slots with no knives in place. This is an 8 piece set, that includes the scissors and block as a piece itself. That is the reason why many are falsely believing they are missing 2 knives. In anycase, the knives are very sharp and great to use. I was cutting potatoes to make fresh french fries and my chef knife was very stable and easy to cut. The handle and grip is perfect as it's not too large or stubby like others. Would definately recommend these knives to anyone who is looking to own a great set of knives for the kitchen. I am very pleased.
Missing Knives December 17, 2008 Tamasi (Seattle) 3 out of 6 found this review helpful
Based on the other recommendations, I ordered the 8 piece knife set as a Christmas gift. When it arrived, it was missing two of the knives. The order was sent from [...]. I plan on calling them first thing in the morning. I caution those seeking to order through this company as mine is the second review that indicates an incomplete order. Very frustrating and unprofessional. If you do want to order this product - seek a different distributor.
Great knife set December 16, 2008 Wilkie West (san diego, CA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Share the view of most reviewers - the knives are a pleasure to use. Puzzled by previous review - the block does have two spare slots but the set was complete as advertised. The shears are short and sharp - made in France. I also ordered the Santoku knife as several other reviewers recommended this (thank you) and it fits an empty slot. Thought this would be my favorite knife but recently found i love using the chef's knife. It cuts cleanly, feels good and well balanced to hold. The smallest knife has a chunky handle compared to blade and doesn't feel/look so well balanced but it's sharp and cuts cleanly too. The wooden block has an attractive grain and is stable (one of the reasons i bought this set instead of the Rachel Ray one as the block looked too narrow - at the time this set was under $80 but now has shot up in price).
