Product Description Many associate Ginsu knives with the product's kitschy infomercial from the `70s that begins with a karate kick to a watermelon and proceeds with a demo of these knives cutting through just about anything in the house. Like the original product, Ginsu's International Traditions is designed for the home cook who is not attuned to the maintenance required of a more high-end knife. However, this line is an improvement on the original, offering the weight, balance, and style of a commercial-quality knife, while meeting current design trends and performance expectations. This 6-piece steak knife set belongs on the table when serving any meaty meal, from steak to chicken. Blades are constructed from stainless steel and feature a two-dimensional serrated edge that is symmetrically-cut on either side for more accurate slicing and for either right- or left-handed use. Edges are still as low-maintenance as ever and never require sharpening. The blades do not have full tangs but are instead encased in a strip of bakelite, which is sandwiched within a brushed stainless-steel handle. The steel handle provides some of the weight of the missing tang and a sleek, modern style. Ginsu covers these International Traditions knives under a limited lifetime warranty, and recommends manual cleaning with hot, soapy water to keep them in top shape. --Cristina Vaamonde

Quite Good Bargain June 29, 2009 Kitten Slapper (MA. USA) Sharp - Heavily weighted grips - Ergonomic even for large hands - Not an unattractive style - Particularly good value for Amazon Prime members.
Great Price for a Very Good Product April 1, 2009 Freddie Venezia (Port Saint Lucie, Florida) We have used Ginsu knives in the past, but this stainless steel set is sharper and both looks and feels indestructible, yet they do not look out of place in a dining room table setting. These knives have a hefty feel which I like. My wife and I are very satisfied and we are also glad that we made this purchase. They were a great buy for the price, but they would be a great buy even if they cost much more.
A Definite Cut Above the Rest January 14, 2009 Carol Bradford (San Diego) I've been through many steak knives in my life and these are, without a doubt, the best I've owned. They are also quite beautiful and I got a ton of compliments at my holiday dinner. It would be nice if you could wash them in a dishwasher, but actually, there are only two of us most of the time and we have steak maybe twice a month, so washing 4 knives a month is something I can handle. They also feel great in your hand. I cannot imagine anyone not liking these knives.
Cheap looking January 13, 2009 Yevgeniy Polulyakh 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
But then after all they were quite cheap.
Other than the looks, they seem to be fine...
Great knives for left handed cutting! October 16, 2008 C. Pollio (Arlington, TX, USA) I love these knives. It is so hard to find a sharp, heavy duty, yet handsome knife that also can be used by both left and right handed people. This does the trick! Since I've bought them, I've had to buy the block sets and additional sets of steak knives for my son (when he moved out) and other friends, because they fell in love with them. Excellent quality!
