My mom. August 10, 2010 Cynthia R. Blackburn My mom swears by these knives. She has given them as presents to a few friends. The only reason we come back for more is that she shares them with friends and doesn't ask for them back.
Excellent Knives and Deal July 24, 2010 J. W. Byrn (Fort Collins, CO USA) In a kitchen that has many small knives these are the workhorse's. They very sharp and can get fixed up with the steel easily. A must have for cooking and great deal to boot.
Fingers Beware June 25, 2010 menumaven (Phoenix AZ) For the money, these are killer knives. They're light in weight, which might bother some, but I don't mind. The handles are textured so your hands don't slip. I haven't figured out what the odd curved knife is for - if anybody knows, please tell me. I bought a knife sharpener when I purchased these and the chef's knife so I don't know how well or long they'd keep an edge on their own. I've cut myself twice while washing and drying them, but that's my fault.
Great paring knives May 19, 2010 Healthier Cooking (Michigan) Victorinox paring knives are wonderful-comfortable in my hand and have great blades. I didn't think I would use the short curved blade much but it is perfect for many jobs. Very reasonable. I think I will buy them for wedding shower gifts in the future but will have to have something else because the set of 3 knives is so reasonable.
good knives April 23, 2010 tomahagne (Elkridge, MD) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought the set and gave the straight paring knife to my mom.
I kept the bird's beak and wavy edge. I don't know what the wavy edge is for.
So I essentially paid $6 per knife. Not bad. The handle is small, but I can keep a hold on it. The recessions in the sides are perfect rests for my finger tips. I get a good grasp on them. I use the bird's beak for most paring duties. It's especially good at hulling strawberries.
My mom uses the straight paring knife more than I use my bird's beak. She also doesn't care for her knives the way I do. So the fact that hers is still sharp after a year without sharpening or even honing is a testament to the blade's quality.
