I bought this knife for my mother after buying the standard 8-inch chef knife for myself. Like all of the R.H. Forschner knives they are an excellent quality blade that does not rust or dull when hand washed.
The handle is not cheap plastic. It seems very durable and comfortable to use. The texture on the handle makes it easy to grip even with wet hands.
The blade is razor-sharp. It could shave hairs off of my arm right out of the box! The grooves in the blade reduce, but not completely eliminate, sticking to the blade when cutting. Overall I am very happy with this knife. My mother was cutting a ham a few nights ago with this knife and said that it was much easier than the electric knife that she usually uses.

This knife arrived as advertised. It is razor sharp and I've used it to chop onions, potatoes and peppers with ease and without them sticking to the knife. I own another Victorinox kitchen knife as well as a few Swiss Army knives by Victorinox. All are very well made and hold an edge.
The beautiful thing about this knife is that it performs well and is relatively inexpensive. I have paid twice this much for a Santoku knife made by another manufacturer and it is no better than this one. I would highly recommend this knife to others.

I bought these for my son just to get him some "decent Knives" to work with. WOW WAS I SURPRISED!!!! I have some very expensive knives and I was truly shocked at how great these knives worked, very impressed. Not everyone can afford to spend lots of bucks on knives. TRUST ME you can't go wrong with this purchase, these are SUPERIOR knives I just ordered some for myself, wish I had found them before I just paid 125 on another brand, I highly suggest you purchase this item. I have more expensive knives that do not compare to these. I am totally sold on them. and I think you will be to, these are so inexpensive compared to others just try one and see what you think, I think you will be like OMG why have I spent so much money before????????

I am no professional cook. But I do have a passion for cooking. I have been looking for sharp knives to cut meat and chop veggies. After buying many knives from super markets and such, I finally decided to search online. After reading the reviews for this knife, I bought it. This knife is exactly what I have been looking for.
I always thought it was unfair how cooks on TV are able to slice and chop veggies and meats so fast and so smoothly. Now I can do the same.
This knife lets you slice and dice and chop just like the professionals do.
I am contemplating on buying the full set of this brand.
