A gift to you, this limited edition 4.5-inch Tomato/Bagel knife is produced in celebration of their 125th Anniversary with the blade etched with the words: 125-Years your companion for life and "Thank You" in eight languages. The Victorinox 4.5-inch Tomato/Bagel knife features high carbon, stainless steel blade, hand finished at Victorinox in Switzerland by skilled craftsmen. A special tempering process is used to produce an edge that can be resharpened over and over again, so the knife can keep its original sharpness throughout the entire life of the blade. Victorinox handles are ergonomically designed to minimize wrist tension. They provide a natural fit. A good heft and comfortable, positive grip are indications of a well-made knife. A sure-grip handle with a finger guard is valuable feature since the handle inevitably gets greasy, wet, or both. Although cutlery steel is naturally sanitary, materials and construction details of the handle minimize crevices what would offer hospitality to bacteria.

As with all Victorinox knives, the blade is perfection.... However, I did not expect to get a knife (for which I spent $9.00) to have packaging that said "Not For Resale" and engraving on the blade that makes it clear that the knife was designed to be a free promotional item. SHAME ON YOU, Amazon!

As a professional chef and Amazon.com regular, I was disappointed to see Amazon.com turn a handy well made utility knife made by Victorinox to be given away to satisfied customers to celebrate their 125th Anniversary. While this knife is well worth the asking price, it comes with a declaration that it is a gift from Victorinox! Of the dozen or so Victorinox Forschner knives in our kitchen, this is my Swiss wife's favorite blade for tomato slicing and sandwich making. If the knife were not intended to be a free gift from the manufacture I would give it 5 stars... it's Amazon.com that rates 1 star for cheating!

Really like this knife. Very sharp. Cuts everything from bread to tomatoes to cornbread. Universal. It peeled the skin off tomatoes very easily. Wish I had another but they are out of them. I have a whole block of knives but grab this one over and over more than the others.

Knife looks cheap and feels cheap, but works well. This is a great knife as long as you don't want to impress anyone.
