Amazon.com Review
Great for a dorm room or office, this cordless kettle lets you enjoy tea, coffee, or even dried soups at any time and without a range. And it's detachable from its power base for convenient pouring. The unobtrusive power base shuts off when the kettle is removed from the platform, and the concealed heating element never comes into contact with the water, keeping it from tasting flat or scalded. Made from high-quality stainless steel, the mirror-finished kettle is attractive and rust-resistant, and its 36-inch cord can be hidden in the base, making for easy, cord-free storage. --Madeleine Miller

1 out of 5 stars Stopped turning off after a year   March 9, 2010
Julia L. Gaddis (Portland, OR)
I bought this because of the recommendations and the reputation of Cuisinart products. We used the kettle daily, and after 13 months, it stopped turning off automatically. Then, you had to jiggle it into place to get it to turn on. Now it's in the trash. Planned obsolescence. Trying to save energy--ended up throwing it in the landfill.

5 out of 5 stars Grandchildren Love It!   February 8, 2010

I have one of these tea kettles. My grandchildren live in a cold area of the country and I purchased one for them. They raved about it. They are continually using it for tea and hot chocolate. It is easy for them. They can see how much water is in the kettle. It shuts off by itself and is easy for them to pour. Very safe. They love the independency it gives them. I'm so glad I bought it for them.

5 out of 5 stars Great tea pot   February 7, 2010

This is a bit pricier than others but I have never been disappointed with a Cuisinart and this product is no different. Attractive and fast.

2 out of 5 stars Great while it lasts   January 25, 2010

I've had two of these already. This kettle looks very nice and works very well, until it breaks. Both of them just stopped working after 2-3 years. I think the cause is the worn electrical connection in the base. Given the price and the brand name I expected this kettle to last longer.

3 out of 5 stars Short service life   December 30, 2009

My wife and I have had two of these kettles. Both of them had the lower unit die after about 2 years, or less. There seems to be no option to repair them. The first one that died led me to believe it was just a fluke, but the exact same malfunction took out the second unit. We will buy another type, if we can find stainless steel. She won't use anything that is lined with plastic.
