Product Description Start your rice in the morning and have it moist, tender, and hot when you come home for dinner. This large capacity cooker will make enough for a crowd and the "keep warm" system switches on immediately after cooking without any help from you. Clean up is no biggie with the non-stick cooking pan and direct heating provides more even heat distribution to ensure delicious results every time.
Amazon.com Review Equipped with a locking lid and a steam cap/vent to preserve moisture, this 600-watt electric appliance produces 2 to 10 cups of cooked rice and automatically keeps the rice fresh, moist, and warm for hours. About 30 minutes is required to cook 10 cups, with an additional 15 minutes of warming recommended for maximum fluffiness. The cooker operates simply. There's a single control to begin the cooking process, and lights signal when cooking ends and warming begins. Inside the white-plastic, cool-touch exterior, a nonstick pan readily releases cooked rice and then cleans up easily. Accompanying the cooker are a rice spatula, a spatula holder that hooks onto the cooker's side, and a plastic measuring cup. The cooker measures 10-1/2 inches wide, 10 inches high, and 13-1/2 inches deep, weighs 7-1/2 pounds, and can be lifted by handles recessed into the sides. --Fred Brack

Not worth the money June 8, 2009 C. Hsieh (Orange County, CA USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The List Price on Amazon is very deceiving. This rice cooker List Price is $232. I bought this for $110 and thought I got a great deal. I went to an asian market and found the same rice cooker for $105 regular price. You just have to know what you are buying and what price other places are selling them for.
Rice cooker ok, nothing fancy about this. I wished it had a timer though. If you don't plan on eating the rice for 2-3 days, take it out of the cooker and put it in the fridge. The rice cooker seems like it's constantly cooking the rice instead of keeping it warm. I think I have a defective cooker. Not worth the money.
Great appliance! May 11, 2009 MormonMom73 (Poplar Grove, IL, USA) So easy to use and so reliable! Getting halfway decent rice is no longer my goal, because awesome rice is so easy now. Medium grain rice is my preference...can't find Japanese-type short grain around here.
Still works great 5 years later! April 20, 2009 G. Oh (Chicago, IL) Worth the money, in my opinion -- perfect rice, fast and fuss-free. As others have pointed out, it's a bit big for one person -- the minimum you can cook is two cups, but it's great for when you need to cook for a crowd -- like last night, when I expected 2 people, but 5 people showed up :-) Now, I don't cook anything but white rice, so I can't speak for anyone who cooks brown rice. But, I cook both thai jasmine and indian basmati rice on a regular basis, even occasionally using it for indian beriyani rice -- where you cook meat and curry separately, and then put it in the rice cooker when the rice is half done. No problems.
Cosmetically, it's also held up well. The external color is a grayish white, so none of the yellowing problems one would have with all-white plastic aging. However, the 2 small clear plastic pieces -- condensation 'catcher' and rice scoop 'holder' are now a slightly yellow -- instead of clear -- transparent plastic.
I'm not sure what the more expensive 'fuzzy logic' rice cookers give you, but this model works perfectly for me.
Cajun Ice Cream January 14, 2009 Pam K. Westbrook (La.) The rice cooker works just like I expected it to. I will recommend it to others.
The Best Rice Cooker I Have Ever Owned November 7, 2008 Melanie Purifoy (Gotha, Florida) Growing up in New Orleans, my mom cooked rice in the morning and then decided what was for dinner. So after ruining pots of rice on the stove, I became a very satisfied "rice cooker" person. This is the third one I've owned. The other two worked fine, but this is the king of rice cookers!
A couple of tips: first, spray a cooking spray in your cooker each time before using. You should treat it like a teflon skillet. Mine looks brand new and it is over 3 years old. Never put it in the dishwasher. Always hand wash. And always use a plastic or even better, a wooden spoon when serving your rice.
My rice comes out perfect every time. I even add things to my rice for certain dishes. Like if we are having Thai, I might add saffron to the rice and water. Excellent!
I don't think you need more than a button to push to get it started. I always start my rice a couple of hours before the rest of the dinner and it is warm and ready to go when the rest of the meal is.
If you serve dishes with rice and want it perfect every time, I highly recommend this rice cooker.
