Amazon.com Review Ideal for grilling steaks, chicken, fish, burgers, and vegetables indoors, this 1300-watt countertop appliance has a big, family-size grill surface of 12-1/2 by 9-1/4 inches coated with nonstick for low-fat cooking and easy cleaning. A variable heat control provides precise cooking temperatures, and the grill's handles and stylish, dark-gray plastic base stay cool during operation for safety. Another safety feature prevents the heat control, which provides power to the appliance, from being inserted unless the metal drip tray and cooking grid are in place and prevents the grid from being removed during operation. The appliance disassembles easily for cleaning, and the drip tray is dishwasher-safe. Overall, the unit measures 20-3/4 inches wide, 6-1/8 inches high, and 14 inches deep. --Fred Brack

Performs really well! August 17, 2010 Calanne (Albany, NY) I've always been a fan of the Delonghi indoor grill and had my last model for a little over 8 years. One evening after cooking dinner, I noticed that the plug had become so hot that it actually melted and that's when I started looking around. I was encouraged by the reviews for the Zojirushi and for the price I thought I would give it a try. I was surprised at how light the base was and wondered how it would hold up under the heat. Well, I've used it about a dozen times now and it performs really well. It cooks evenly with very little smell or smoke - in fact the slight grill smell makes the kitchen smell tasty! I like the adjustable temperature and although other reviewers say that you have to have it set to high, I have actually had to turn it down. I also like that the sides of the meat cook through - one of the problems with the Delonghi was that the middle would be cooked, but the edges were still raw. Two things that prevented me from giving the Zojirushi 5 stars; 1-the base is slippery and if you have it on a smooth surface, it could easily slide right off the table and 2-there is no backsplash so if you are using a spatchula you have to be careful to not push the food right off the cooktop! I remediated both these issues by putting small rubber stops on the base and using plastic coated tongs for picking up or flipping food. All in all, it works great and that's what really counts.
Love it June 3, 2010 tx3amigos (The great state of Texas) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I got this after reading all the good reviews...so glad I did. Was all ready to get a foreman grill before I looked this one over.
Just love it:
--gets very hot
--lovely grill marks
--minimal smoke ( I use it on or near the stove top vent)
--food tastes great
I used someone else's suggestion and bought a disposable foil pan (one with handles) and use it as a lid. I think the food cooks faster and there seems to be no smoke at all
Highly recommend!
Excellent product! March 12, 2010 A. Frink 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've used my grill to cook chicken , pork chops and steaks so far! I love it. Thge meat was perfectly done and not dried out at all. The grill is super easy to clean, and the tip about putting the tin foil on the drip tray I got from another review is great. If you're going to cook steak, I've had better luck with NY Strip steak than the thicker steak like rib eye. I highly recommend this grill. Have fun with it!!!!
zojirushi indoor grill February 8, 2010 tonypony (St Louis, MO) heats up fast but difficult to control temp and not able to cook meat throughly without burning outside. Maybe it takes awhile to get the hang of it but so far not overly impressed....
A GREAT INDOOR GRILL!!! February 2, 2010 R. Graham (Little Rock, AR) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I tried this grill because the reviews said it got really hot. Well, it does. On high, the surface temp is over 800 deg. Cooking steak, chops, ribs, chicken, etc. will provide excellent results. There is a small amount of smoke created if seasonings are not used, but seasonings are a different story. I have a favorite steak seasoning but must limit its use to the outdoor grill since the high temperature produced by this grill will quickly fill the room with smoke. Overall, this grill is simple, easy to use, has good temperature control and easy to clean. For the times when grilling outside is impractical due to weather, this is a great substitute.
