| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description Deep-fried foods are usually something we eat at restaurants, partly because it seems like making them at home would be messy and complicated. But this proffesional-quality deep fryer means that making fried treats like French fries, onion rings, shrimp tempura, and doughnuts can easily be done in any home kitchen. There is a simple temperature knob, and a green ready light tells when the proper oil temperature has been reached. A view window in the lid helps with keeping an eye on what's frying inside. Safety features include cool touch body, locking safety lid, safety indicator light and a 30-minute timer. It also has a dual filter in the lid that traps odor-causing smoke during cooking. Adjustable themostat means food absorbs less grease.
Amazon.com Review Sometimes deep fried foods are the only thing that will satisfy a particular craving. If cooked at the proper temperature, fried foods absorb surprisingly little grease. The adjustable thermostat on this 1500-watt, 1-1/2-liter capacity deep fryer can be set at variable settings up to 375 degrees Fahrenheit, and a frying guide gives suggestions for types of food. For safety the lid locks tightly but features a viewing window, along with dual filters for odor control. An outer handle raises and lowers the cooking basket, and the body of the fryer stays cool to the touch. A 30-minute timer and power on and temperature ready lights also add safety. The lid removes for cleaning and the nonstick bowl can be easily wiped clean. The deep fryer measures 10 by 8 by 10 inches. --Ann Bieri

Cover Gets a Little Hot, but It's a Good Fryer May 23, 2008 J. Mousaw (Syracuse, New York) I couldn't get a good read on the exact temperatures, but this little baby can cook small amounts of yummi-ness like any restaurant. Small items can only be cooked because it isn't that big, the lid gets pretty warm, but overall, it was inexpensive and it works well, so I can't complain!
Useless for large items November 26, 2006 Kristina E. Jones (Roseburg, OR USA) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I have so many problems with this item, i don't know where to start. First the seals on the lid try and come off and once you put them back on, the lid won't close tight. Second, its not deep enough and every time i try to deep fry anything more than about 2 inches tall i have to watch it and turn it and i never get an even turn out. one side is always darker than the other. Even more, the basket is small and useless, the item is hard to clean as it doesn't come apart at all, it has a safety power plug so that if it falls the power plug disconnects and after a while it won't plug into the unit tightly. I say it is useless
poor quality product returned November 9, 2006 Holland 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
I thought I was getting a good deal with this deep fat fryer but the quality was really poor. I used the fryer only once because the lid did not seal properly and I ended up with oil & water from condensation dripping down the side. I returned the product and received a full refund. The safety plug was hard to use and the basket size is too small for more than two people.
Save your money! July 26, 2006 Tabba 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I bought this in December, it quit working in July. I agree with previous reviews about the cord being too short, detaching too easily, and difficulty draining the oil.
No! No! No! March 19, 2006 C Reviews (KY) 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
Absolute piece of junk. Oil heated and then quit heating after expensive food was placed in it. After oil cooled to barely warm, it started heating again. Ruined the food. Ruined dinner. Sure glad I didn't have company over for dinner. Should have left the shrimp in it when I returned it.
