I call mine Chernobyl January 15, 2010 John F. Denton (Portland Oregon) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
It looks like a product of ex-Soviet Russia, but I like its heft. You don't push this one around much when you're prying your toast out and burning your hand on its brushed steel cowling, so that's a plus. It's got wattage to burn and so a pretty reliable approach to "charred", which covers my bases. I needed a long bread slot, is why I selected it over some plastic units. I just wonder who the hell designed it.
Toast needs fork to retrieve it. November 21, 2009 William Patterson (Las Vegas, Nevada) First toaster I've ever owned that needed a Fork to dig out the toast. $40 wasted. Now you know why the picture shows the toast standing on it's end, I guess a little untoasted bread is better than the fork idea. :-)

Its ok - wouldn't buy it again October 13, 2009 N. E. Davis I think the toaster is really nice looking and it toasts bread well.
My complaints are two - 1) the toasts does not pop up high enough to easily pick it out. if you have toaster tongs, should be no problem. but, it is kinda of annoying when you are in a hurry. 2) the sides get so crazy hot after it has been used. We do not keep ours on the counter since we don't have a lot of counter space. But because it gets so hot, we have to let the sides cool for an hour or two before we put it back in the cabinet.
Neither of these may be a problem for most people, but they make me wish we didn't buy this toaster.
Like for the most part September 12, 2009 Lynda Barnaby (NYC) I love the toaster in brushed stainless steel. Works well. I thought it would be able to handle toasting bagels a bit differently but it is okay for them too.
good toaster but with limits September 12, 2009 M. Sabes (San Jose, CA USA) I bought this toaster because it can take thick slices of bread. In that manner, it does very well. I also trust the Oster brand for the most part. The toaster works well but the metal skin does get very warm. My last toaster could not do thick breads but the plastic body never got hot to the touch.
All in all, I do recommend this product.
