Product Description Panini Press
Amazon.com Review Create delicious, deli-like panini at home with this gourmet sandwich press from Hamilton Beach. Designed to accommodate everything from single-slice ham sandwiches to piled-high turkey grinders, the grill heats ingredients, melts cheese, and creates a crispy outer crust. The floating lid slides and swivels for the right fit and locks into position with a side dial. The locking function is also handy for keeping the lid upright if you want to make open face snacks or clean the grill plates. Roomy and ribbed, the grill plates measure 12 by 8-1/2 and are coated with a wipe-down nonstick coating. Stable on its four feet, the press has gleaming chrome housing and durable plastic accents. A side clamp locks it shut between uses, so you can choose from upright or horizontal storagea thoughtful feature for the space-efficient kitchen. Two indicator lights signal power and preheating, and the whole unit measures 13-1/2 by 11-1/2 by 4. Hamilton Beach includes a two-year warranty. --Emily Bedard

Cheap Junk May 2, 2010 per delta (USA) Although I purchase many items on Amazon.com, this item is one that I have purchased at a local brick and mortar store twice in the past six months. Both times the machine has only worked for a couple of months before it completely stops working.
The price is great, but if I were to continue to repurchase it would cost me several hundred dollars per year. Buyer beware, the price is nice, but the quality lacks.
I have decided to by a panini pan for stove-top use. I am tired of kitchen gadgets such as this one that just don't last.
Made a great gift April 1, 2010 Christian Boyce I bought this for a friend who had never used a panini machine. I picked this one because of the way the lid pivoted, allowing for even pressure on thick or thin sandwiches. My friend loves the machine and I looked pretty good for picking this one out. The only thing that would make it better would be removable grills so she could wash them in the sink. As it is, it's one of those "wipe it off" things and you never really get it clean that way.
Was a great appliance for a while... March 9, 2010 M. Wheeler (Molalla, OR United States) I was very excited to get this press as an upgrade from another brand (with a smaller surface). I loved it for the first few months. It heated quickly (those who find it doesn't get hot/melt things must have a faulty unit), made sandwiches (and a few other things) to perfection, and aside from being slightly more difficult to clean than my previous one it was great.
Unfortunately, only a few months in the clip that holds the unit closed fell off. And the non-stick surface? Nice, but it didn't last long. It's already wearing off in the grooves and I've never used metal or any other damaging utensil on it.
I've had this unit for just over a year and am already looking at having to replace it.
I'd recommend it in some aspects (nice sized surface, heats well, cooks quickly), but not in others. If you're looking for a press/grill that will only get minor use, then this may be the unit for you. If you want a work horse, a press that you use once a week or more, you might want to check around.
Great Company February 22, 2010 AJ BRUNNER (Wichita, KS, US) This purchase was a long time dream to have a Panini Press. Using the second time the handle broke on me? Was very upset and mad contacted the company within a short time replaced the Panini Press. I have used several times really enjoy and works great. If had taken a long time to correct would not have ever purchased another product.
great panini maker February 19, 2010 L. Nino I love the panini maker. it makes crispy, toasted paninis. I also grilled fish on it the other day with no problem at all. The fish was juicy and crispy. Highy recommend this panini maker.
