5 out of 5 stars it works ok   September 2, 2010

If you follow the instructions, it works perfect. My only disappointment was it did not come with the cotton candy mix like it said it would and when i wrote the feed back there was no response from the company to send it. and that tells me about the company.

1 out of 5 stars don't buy this one   June 20, 2010
Leah Todd (Checotah, OK)
The only reason that I gave it one star is because it turns on when you plug it in. Very disappointed, It takes at least 20min. to get a cup size amount of cotton candy. Not good for 4 waiting kids. If you need practice with controlling anger and patience then this is the machine for you. I am not sure how this even got into production it is a scam for sure and makes you mad.

1 out of 5 stars Not hot enough to melt regular sugar   June 16, 2010
T. Ahlman (South Jersey)
I'm really surprised that this product hasn't been removed for abject failure to perform even the most rudimentary of it's stated goals.

Like a dummy, I thought I could get better results than the average reviewer here. TOTAL FAILURE! It doesn't get hot enough to melt the sugar. And, by the way, I used pure cane sugar and cotton candy consecrate floss without glycerine (don't believe that other review that says glycerine is the problem). And I gave it plenty of time to warm up and plenty of time after I started, and still it never put out more that an odd strand here and there (about 1 strand a minute, it would have taken a few hours to get a decent mouthfull).

It did work by adding hard candy, but the drawback is the cone tastes like the hard candy instead of cotton candy. (I guess the corn sugar used in hard candy is easier to melt)

Anyway, buy the one from Hammacher Schlemmer. It costs more ($69), but it works as advertised.

5 out of 5 stars AMAZING!!!   June 3, 2010
C. L. France (Utah)
I almost didn't buy this cotton candy machine based on the reviews I read here. I decided to give it a try anyway, and thank goodness I did!

As soon I got home I set it up, and it was simple to operate. Not only that, it only took three tries and I was making perfect cotton candy.

I searched the Yellow Pages until I found a concession supply store, and I found the common sugar used by most amusement parks, theaters, etc. It's called "Flossugar" and is sold in half-gallon cartons for approximately $7.00. It makes around 70 servings, and is available in a variety of flavors. Also available are the paper cones, and they are incredibly inexpensive.

The grandkids are going to have an amazing lemonade stand this summer!

1 out of 5 stars Doesn't work!   April 26, 2010
G. E. Philbeck (Waco,NC)
Bought mine from another website that didn't have any reviews on the product. Lesson learned, come to Amazon first. Was so excited to receive this since I can't afford the larger version that my friend has. Thought this was a great compromise but it doesn't work. Followed the directions to a T and nothing came out but flying granulated sugar when I turned it on. No floss, no nothing... Returning ASAP.
