there's a lot of engineering in there bernoulli's principle states that as the speed of a moving fluid increases, the pressure within the fluid decreases.when wine is poured in the vinturi, its design creates an increase in the wine's velocity and a decrease in its pressure. this pressure difference draws in air, which is mixed with wine for perfect aeration.

The vinturi wine aerator works well. In an ad hoc, blind test with non-wine experts, the aerated wine with the vinturi was selected as tasting better. When we compared the vinturi system with wine decanted into a flask with large surface area and left to sand for 10 minutes, the results were mixed - e.g. our non-expert wine tasters could then not select the wine aerated with the vinturi system. So, it saves time and makes a cheap bottle of red wine taste a bit better immediately.
